Training Terms and Conditions
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:
“DSAP”, “we”, “us”, or “our” means Drilling School Asia-Pacific.
“Candidate” means any individual enrolled in training, assessment, or examination.
“Client” means the individual, company, or organisation making the booking.
“Course” means any training, assessment, examination, workshop, or related service delivered by DSAP.
“IWCF” means the International Well Control Forum.
2. Bookings and Enrolment
2.1 Booking Process
Bookings may be made via our website, email, phone, or other approved booking methods.
All bookings are provisional until confirmed by DSAP.
Full payment must be received no later than 10 business days prior to course commencement unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.2 IWCF Registration and Identification
Candidates undertaking IWCF-accredited training must be registered with IWCF prior to attending training or assessment.
Candidates are responsible for ensuring:
their IWCF registration details are accurate;
they are enrolled in the appropriate IWCF level relevant to their role, experience, and operational responsibilities; and
they meet any prerequisite requirements applicable at the time of training.
DSAP may assist candidates with the registration process; however, responsibility for registration remains with the candidate and/or employer.
2.3 Identification Requirements
Candidates must present valid government-issued photographic identification on the first day of training and assessment.
Failure to provide suitable identification may result in refusal of participation in training or assessment activities.
2.4 Multiple Bookings
Where multiple candidates are booked, each candidate must complete a separate booking form.
2.5 Course Availability
All course dates, locations, instructors, delivery methods, and schedules are subject to availability and may change without notice.
DSAP reserves the right to:
limit class sizes;
combine or separate training groups;
alter course schedules;
change instructors or venues; and
modify delivery format where reasonably required.
3. Payment Terms
3.1 Accepted Payment Methods
Payment may be made by:
Direct deposit
Credit card
International transfer
Other approved methods
Applicable transaction or merchant fees may apply.
3.2 Payment Conditions
Bookings remain conditional until payment has been received in full.
Where payment is being made by employer invoice or purchase order, payment must still be received no later than 10 business days before course commencement unless otherwise agreed in writing.
DSAP reserves the right to withdraw or refuse attendance where payment has not been received within required timeframes.
3.3 Fees and Charges
All fees are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are subject to GST where applicable.
Current administrative fees and re-sit fees are published by DSAP and may change periodically.
International transaction fees and credit card surcharges may apply.
4. Cancellations, Transfers, Substitutions, and Non-Attendance
4.1 General Conditions
Requests for cancellations, transfers, or substitutions must be submitted in writing.
Approval of requests remains at DSAP’s discretion and may be subject to administrative fees or IWCF charges already incurred.
4.2 Transfers
Transfers received and accepted:
More than four weeks prior to course commencement: No charge
Less than four weeks and more than 10 business days prior: $300 administration fee
Less than 10 business days prior: Transfers not accepted and no refund applies
4.3 Cancellations
Cancellations received and accepted:
More than four weeks prior to course commencement: No charge
Less than four weeks and more than 10 business days prior: $500 cancellation fee
Less than 10 business days prior: Cancellations not accepted and no refund applies
4.4 Substitutions
Substitutions may be permitted subject to:
candidate eligibility;
IWCF requirements; and
administrative processing timeframes.
Administrative fees may apply.
4.5 Non-Attendance, Late Arrival and Missed Sessions
Failure to attend, late arrival, or missed sessions may result in refusal of participation in training or assessment activities.
Course fees may be forfeited where:
IWCF fees have already been incurred;
venues or instructors have been booked;
assessments have been scheduled; or
attendance requirements cannot reasonably be met.
Candidates are responsible for ensuring adequate travel arrangements and arrival prior to scheduled course commencement times.
5. Course Conduct and Participation
5.1 Attendance Requirements
Candidates are expected to:
attend all scheduled sessions;
participate appropriately;
comply with safety instructions; and
behave professionally and respectfully.
DSAP reserves the right to remove any candidate from training or assessment where behaviour is:
unsafe;
disruptive;
abusive;
threatening;
dishonest; or
otherwise unsuitable for the training environment.
No refund will apply in these circumstances.
5.2 Health, Safety, and Fitness for Training
Candidates are responsible for ensuring they are medically and physically fit to participate in training and assessments.
DSAP accepts no responsibility for injuries, illness, or losses arising from participation except where required by law.
6. Assessments, Examinations, and Re-Sits
6.1 Examination Pass Mark
Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% in each examination component in accordance with current IWCF requirements.
6.2 Re-Sit Eligibility
Re-sit eligibility is governed by IWCF requirements. At the time of publication, DSAP’s current re-sit guidance is as follows. Candidates should note that IWCF may update assessment and re-sit requirements at any time, and the current IWCF requirements in effect at the time of training and assessment will prevail.
Candidates failing two or more examination components at the first attempt are not eligible for an instant re-sit and must attend a full course of training before re-assessment.
Candidates achieving 65% or below in any failed component are not eligible for an instant re-sit and must receive further training prior to re-assessment.
Candidates failing one component with a score of 66% or above may be eligible for:
an instant re-sit; or
a re-sit within the applicable IWCF re-sit period.
If the first re-sit attempt results in a score of 65% or below, the candidate will not be eligible for a further instant re-sit and must complete further training before the final attempt.
In the case of practical assessment failure, one re-sit may be permitted prior to written examination assessment in accordance with IWCF policy.
Re-sits must be completed within 90 days of the initial assessment date.
Candidates are permitted a maximum of two re-sit attempts per failed component within the applicable IWCF re-sit period.
6.3 Instant Re-Sits
Instant re-sits may be provided where:
the candidate meets applicable IWCF eligibility requirements;
suitable assessment materials are available; and
invigilation resources are available.
Instant re-sits are not guaranteed.
6.4 Re-Sit Fees
Current re-sit fees at the time of publication are:
Immediate practical re-sit (where eligible): No charge
Written re-sit on a scheduled assessment date: AUD $545
Practical re-sit on a scheduled assessment date: AUD $700
Re-sit fees are subject to change without notice.
6.5 IWCF Policy Changes
IWCF policies, assessment procedures, certification requirements, pass marks, and re-sit rules may change periodically.
Where discrepancies arise between these Terms and current IWCF requirements, the current IWCF policies and procedures in effect at the time of training and assessment will prevail.

7. Cheating and Misconduct
IWCF operates a strict zero-tolerance policy for cheating and plagiarism.
If cheating or unethical behaviour is suspected:
Examination materials may be confiscated
The candidate may be asked to leave the examination
Examinations may be suspended for individuals or groups
The candidate may be suspended from further assessments pending investigation
No refunds apply in cases of misconduct.
8. Record Retention and Data
All course materials, presentations, simulator exercises, manuals, assessment content, and training resources remain the intellectual property of DSAP and/or IWCF.
Candidates must not:
reproduce;
distribute;
record;
publish; or
commercially use
any course materials without prior written consent.
Unauthorised audio, video, or screen recording during training or assessment is prohibited unless approved in writing.
Candidate records are retained securely in accordance with IWCF requirements and applicable privacy laws.
DSAP may collect, store, and share information with IWCF where required for training administration, certification, quality assurance, or accreditation purposes.
9. Course Changes and Cancellations by DSAP
DSAP reserves the right to:
cancel;
reschedule;
relocate; or
modify
courses where reasonably necessary.
Where a course is cancelled by DSAP, candidates may be offered:
a transfer to another course; or
a refund of course fees paid.
DSAP will not be responsible for travel, accommodation, loss of income, consequential loss, or other associated expenses incurred by candidates or employers.
10. No Guarantee of Certification or Outcomes
Completion of training does not guarantee:
Certification outcomes
Examination results
Employment or role suitability
Certification decisions rest solely with the relevant examining or accrediting body. Employers remain responsible for verifying competency and fitness for work.
11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version published on our website at the time of booking applies.
12. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a booking form or making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
